Several Middle Georgia school districts remain closed days after Helene came through the area, causing widespread damage and power outages.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Several Middle Georgia school districts remain closed days after Helene came through the area, causing widespread damage and power outages. As of Tuesday afternoon, more than 15,000 customers in our viewing area remain without power, according to poweroutage.us. The following list of school closures includes updates we’ve received by email, social media and school and district websites.

Dodge County:

  • Dodge County Schools – Closed Monday and Tuesday.

 

 

Hancock County:

  • Hancock County Schools – Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • John Hancock Academy – Closed Monday.

 

 

Johnson County:

  • Johnson County Schools – Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

 

Laurens County:

  • Dublin City Schools – Closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Laurens County Schools – Closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Trinity Christian School – Closed Monday and Tuesday.

 

 

Telfair County:

  • Telfair County Schools – Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

 

Treutlen County:

  • Treutlen County Schools – Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

 

Twiggs County:

  • Twiggs County Schools – Open Monday. (Twiggs County Online Academy and Cobra Academy Alternative Program closed Monday due to “ongoing technical difficulties.”)

 

 

Washington County:

  • Brentwood School – Closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Washington County Schools – Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

 

Wheeler County:

  • Wheeler County Schools – Closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

 

Wilcox County:

  • Wilcox County Schools – Closed Monday and Tuesday.

 

 

Wilkinson County:

  • Wilkinson County Schools – Students return Monday with early release for professional learning.
