Body found underneath bridge in Laurens County identified

UPDATE: The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a positive identification had been made on a body that was found on May 11.

The body was found under the bridge at the intersection of HWY 199 and Pughes Creek, was identified as 24-year-old Jerron Hill.

EAST DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies say two hunters found a decomposed body under a bridge on Saturday.

Deputies say they responded to a call at Pughes Creek bridge on Hwy 199 in East Dublin, Georgia about a body found under the bridge on May 11th.

Authorities say that the two hunters found the body in the area and they called 911. Once deputies arrived, they found the body of a partially decomposed male subject.

Deputies say they that the investigation looks like a suspicious death. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.

Authorities say sheriff’s deputies turned the incident over to the GBI and LCSO investigators to assist them in the investigation. The subject is not identified.
