Kroger hiring to help with high demand

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Kroger is hiring to help keep stores stocked, especially in areas hit hard by COVID-19.

Felix Turner with Kroger says store employees are cleaning cash registers, food belts, shelves and other common areas. They are also offering disinfectant wipes to customers to sanitize carts.

Turner says Kroger is doing all  it can to help combat the pandemic and food gaps.

“[We] encourage customers not to panic,” he said. “I know there’s a lot of uncertainty. There’s plenty of food in the supply chain. We’re doing everything we can to replenish the shelves as quickly as possible.”

Kroger is altering  its business hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The time change is effective Tuesday, March 17.
