Kelvin King outlines election reform and government efficiency plans in Secretary of State bid
Republican candidate for Georgia Secretary of State Kelvin King is laying out a platform centered on election reform, voter roll management, and government efficiency as he seeks to oversee one of the state’s most influential offices.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Kelvin King, a U.S. Air Force veteran and business owner, is running on a message of restoring public confidence in Georgia’s elections and modernizing how the state manages both its voting systems and business services. His campaign emphasizes structural changes to election administration, including replacing Georgia’s current voting system with hand-marked paper ballots and hand-counted results.
He has also called for a review of the state’s contract with Dominion Voting Systems, arguing that election systems should be fully transparent and independently verifiable by voters. Alongside that proposal, King is advocating for increased public access to election processes and expanded audit capabilities to strengthen trust in results.
On voter rolls, King supports major changes to how Georgia maintains registration records. He proposes more continuous verification of voter information and a shift away from multi-state data-sharing systems, instead favoring direct coordination between states. His campaign argues this would improve accuracy and reduce outdated registrations while giving voters more direct access to their status information year-round.
King also criticized large-scale voter roll removals conducted in short timeframes, saying they can create confusion and reduce public confidence. He says his approach would focus on ongoing maintenance and transparency rather than periodic large purges.
Beyond elections, King is also focusing on the Secretary of State’s role in business services. He has pledged to streamline business formation and professional licensing processes, reduce regulatory delays, and modernize state systems to make Georgia more competitive for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
In addition, he has highlighted securities oversight as a key responsibility of the office, pointing to the need for stronger protections against fraud and better review of investment filings to safeguard Georgia investors, particularly seniors.
King says his campaign is driven by a broader goal of restoring trust in state government operations. He argues that election administration, business regulation, and securities oversight all require greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
As the race for Georgia Secretary of State develops, King joins a growing field of Republican candidates competing to oversee the state’s elections system and regulatory agencies heading into the next election cycle.
