Keeping Organized: The school backpack
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Every child needs a backpack to put their school books and binders into for safekeeping. However, sometimes those become a bothersome void where things get crushed and lost. Professional organizer Andi Willis returns to show us a few tips to keep your child’s book bag neatly organized.
Andi suggests to always get a good quality, sturdy backpack that has more than one pocket. She also suggests that the smaller front pocket be used to pack in more fragile items, like headphones, or items that are used more often. Pencils, erasers, pens, and even chargers for mobile devices are perfect for that particular space.
The main pocket is naturally for your books and binders. Andi suggests to clearly label them and put them in order from the first class in the morning to the last class in the afternoon.
Lastly, and perhaps more importantly, is to make sure the backpack has its weight distributed evenly. Doing so will help prevent sore shoulders and sore backs on your little ones.
