Jury hears opening arguments in Meadows murder trial

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than 60 people packed into a Bibb County Superior Courtroom for the beginning of the Jaddarius Meadows murder trial.

Damion Clayton’s body was discovered on an Anthony Road baseball field in Feb., 2014.

Clayton had been shot several times.

The prosecution and the defense explained to jurors that the killing stemmed from gang violence, and that they would heAr gang names including the “Crips” throughout the trial.

Bibb County Assistant District Attorney John Regan told the court Meadows is the gunman, who shot the 15-year-old on the Macon Little League baseball Field.

But, defense attorney Jay Davis told the court his client had nothing to do with Clayton’s murder.
