Judge dismisses former Bibb schools superintendent’s lawsuit

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Florida judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by former Bibb County schools superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand against a Macon accounting firm.

In March, the attorney’s representing Maudlin & Jenkins filed a motion to dismiss the case. They claimed Florida is not the right place for Dallemand’s lawsuit because it has no connection to that state.

William Newcomb, the lawyer representing the accounting firm, tells 41NBC the Collier County, Florida judge heard oral arguments from both sides during a hearing Friday morning and ruled to dismiss the case.

Dallemand was suing the firm because he claims it published false information about him in a 2013 audit.

Dallemand can refile the suit in Bibb County within 120 days.

41NBC reached out to Dallemand’s attorney, but we have not heard back.
