Jones County special needs student awaits decision on his future
GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Jones County special needs student is fighting to stay in school.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board of education decided to table a vote concerning his future because a member of the board was not present.
Tucker Sauls may not be able to go to school after his 22nd birthday.
That’s because federal funds for his education drop after he turns 22.
But, his family hopes an appeal to the board can change the policy.
“It’s a change that will affect his education and his outlook on his whole senior year and how it will affect him,” said Tucker’s father, Howell Sauls.
The Jones County School Board is scheduled to address this issue again at its meeting in August.
