Jones County proposes increase in millage rate

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Jones County is proposing an increase in its millage rate.

Commissioner Daylon Martin says it’s a 2.75 raise from last year. He explained one of the reasons for the proposed increase is a 4% employee raise.

There will be two public hearings on Tuesday. The first is at 4 p.m. The second is at 6 p.m. Both will be held in the Jones County Government Center.
