GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Jones County man has been arrested after deputies say he shot his nephew during an argument earlier this month.

According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on February 9 to a report of a person shot in the 500 block of Chapman Road. When deputies got there, they made contact with the victim, identified as the suspect’s nephew, who had been shot in the foot.

Deputies say they learned the suspect, James Boyd Parks, had left the scene and returned to his home on Graham Road. Deputies later responded to that location, where Parks was taken into custody

The sheriff’s office says the investigation revealed Parks and the victim were involved in an argument when Parks produced a firearm and fired three shots, striking the victim once.
