Jones County man gives over two thousand Thanksgiving meals
He offers a Thanksgiving meal to anyone, no matter their circumstances.
Along with volunteers, Bresse filled take out boxes with traditional Thanksgiving foods, like ham and sweet potato pie.
“I cooked right at 450 pounds of dressing yesterday, we have about 1000 pounds of turkey meat,
the yams and everything else was probably 300-350 pounds of each,” organizer Rusty Bresse said.
This year, dozens of volunteers helped feed more than 2000 people.
“Its very heartwarming, very touching to do something for somebody else, its something thats so simple, food that we take for granted, some people don’t get that opportunity to have a home cooked meal everyday,” volunteer Ashlan Ramsey said.
Volunteers loaded up their vehicles and sent meals to those that couldn’t make it to Lake Jonesco Golf Course to eat.
“I think its wonderful people riding around and looking for people to feed, a lot of people don’t have transportation, can’t walk that far, it’s a wonderful thing they do, and they’ll get blessed for it.” said a meal reciprocant.
