Jones County man arrested on aggravated battery charge

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is in custody after investigators upgraded charges connected to a family violence case, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to an incident on Kimberly Drive on May 24. Investigators initially obtained a warrant for 41-year-old Michael Youngblood on a charge of simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

Authorities say the charge was later upgraded to aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.

According to the sheriff’s office, Youngblood was located by the U.S. Marshals Service on May 26 and taken into custody. He is currently being held at the Jones County Sheriff’s Office Jail.

The victim is listed in stable condition and receiving medical care, according to authorities.

The investigation remains active.
