GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Jones County High School has postponed its Open House event to Wednesday, July 30, due to ongoing issues with water pressure, according to a Facebook post from the school.

The original Open House was scheduled for Friday, July 25, but concerns over the possible loss of air conditioning led officials to delay the event.

“Due to the ongoing issues with the water pressure, it is uncertain if we will have air conditioning tomorrow for our scheduled open house,” the post said. “We have made the decision to move open house to WEDNESDAY July 30th.”

The July 30 event will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.e

Earlier in the day, the City of Gray issued a boil water advisory after a water main break caused low pressure and temporary outages. Officials advised residents to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and food preparation for at least one minute. Bottled water is being recommended as an alternative.

Crews are continuing to work on repairs, and water pressure is expected to gradually return to normal. The advisory will remain in place until water samples are tested and confirmed safe.

According to a post from Jones County Family and Community Engagement, Open House events for other grade levels are scheduled as follows:

  • Middle school: Monday, July 28
  • Pre-K through elementary: Tuesday, July 29.
