Jones County church providing family quarantine kits

The kits include several activities for children like word searches, play-doh and coloring tools.

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — After being quarantined three times, Kristin Long, the Children’s Director at Gray United Methodist Church, wanted to do something to help families, so she set out to create family quarantine kits.

The kits include several activities for children like word searches, play-doh and coloring tools.

Long says it can be tough being at home with nothing to do, so she wanted to make it easier for families who are quarantined.

“I’m just happy that we’re able to do a little bit of something to make peoples lives easier,” she said. “It’s a weird stressful time for a lot of folks, and I’m just hoping and praying that this will bless them and even if it’s just a little small way.”

The church began distributing bags on August 20.

You can get a kit through a drive-thru at the church or they will take it to your home and place it at your door.
