Johnson County Sheriff’s deputy arrested on drug charges

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Johnson County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested for allegedly selling heroin and methamphetamine.

The GBI arrested Deputy Raymond “Ray” Fred Jones Thursday at the Johnson County Sheriff’s office.

Jones is facing several drug charges, as well as violating his oath of office and racketeer influence corrupt organization, that is according to GBI Special Agent Eve Rogers.

Rogers says all of the charges are out of Emmanuel County. She tells 41NBC more charges are pending, but investigators could not tell us anything else about the case.

Jones previously worked for the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

41NBC News reached out to Johnson County Sheriff Rusty Oxford for comment, but we have not heard back.
