Irving donates $30,000 to Macon’s Salvation Army and Red Cross
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Irving Consumer Products broke ground for its new plant in Macon on Thursday. After, they celebrated, by celebrating Macon’s first responders.
The Canada-based company hosted a barbecue for everyone who worked during and in the relief of Tropical Storm Irma. The barbecue took place at Rosa Parks Square and had food and live music.
President of the company, Robert Irving, says the company wants to be involved as much as possible with the community.
“Our philosophy in all of our businesses is to make sure we give back in the communities,” said Irving. “Because our employees that work for us, live here in these communities.”
Irving also presented the American Red Cross of Central Midwest Georgia and Salvation Army of Central Georgia with $30,000. Each organization received $15,000.
