Hurricane Matthew forces local officials to open evacuation shelters
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency is coordinating the opening of evacuation shelters around the area.
Wednesday evening the American Red Cross opened up an evacuation shelter at the Hephzibah Children’s Home on Zebulon Road.
Thursday a second shelter opens at 10:00 a.m. at North Macon Park.
The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency will be partially activating its Emergency Operations Center Thursday at 8 a.m.
