Hundreds Bid for Bargains at Surplus Auction

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Hundreds of people flocked to Warner Robins to start their holiday shopping early this weekend.

The city of Warner Robins auctioned off more than 719 items including over 40 cars Saturday at the old barn on Bay Street. The auctioned items were collected from different city departments who no longer needed them. It included everything from motorcycles to street lights. Thomas Marshall attended this year’s surplus auction for the first time. He placed a bid on a pickup truck and won.

“I like it. It has a large selection and some good values,” Marshall said, “they give you a really good opportunity to check the items and that’s why I think that this is real good”.

More than 200 people registered and several people attended. The last auction, the city made $48,000.
