Howard High School student found with BB gun on campus
Administrators say the student was quickly located after a report of a possible weapon, and parents were notified through ParentSquare.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 15-year-old student at Howard High School was found with a BB gun last week.
According to district spokesperson Stephanie Hartley, administrators received a report of a possible weapon on campus Thursday morning.
The student was quickly identified and found, and a search of the student’s belongings revealed a BB gun. Because the situation was contained, there was no school lockdown.
A message was sent to parents through ParentSquare at 9:18 a.m. to notify them. The message thanked students and staff for reporting the concern promptly and for remaining calm during the response.
Campus police are assisting with follow-up. The district has not released information about disciplinary action or next steps.
