Houston County man indicted for fatally stabbing nephew

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Houston County man was indicted for fatally stabbing his nephew.

A Houston County Grand Jury indicted 48 year-old Leon Springer for malice and felony murder charges. The indictment accuses Springer of stabbing 44-year-old Shaun Lawson in the head and chest in September.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at a home on Houston Road in Kathleen. Investigators said the two were fighting before the stabbing. Lawson died on the way to the hospital. 

Family members told 41NBC Spring and Lawson had their differences, but loved each other
