Houston County deputies seeking information on deadly hit-and-run
Video footage shows a white truck traveling in the same direction as a bicyclist who was struck and killed just after 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 19. Deputies want to speak with the driver.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the driver of a white pickup truck that was traveling near the site of a fatal hit-and-run last week.
A sheriff’s office news release on Tuesday stopped short of identifying the driver of the truck as a suspect, but said a camera captured the truck, a “newer Ford 4×4 F-250/F-350, or a newer 4×4 Chevrolet/GMC 2500/3500,” traveling on Pyles Road at 8:08 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, one minute after cyclist Phillip Clifford was spotted. Deputies say both the truck and Clifford were traveling in the same direction.
The truck has a black step at the front of the pickup bed behind the rear door. Photos posted on the Houston County Sheriff’s Traffic Division Facebook page show the truck was pulling a double-axle trailer.
Deputies say Clifford, a 68-year-old from South Carolina, was struck and killed by “an unknown vehicle” while traveling east on Pyles Road, about a mile west of Flournoy Road.
“The Houston County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in contacting the driver of this truck,” the release stated. “This driver may have information to help us identify who and what struck Clifford.”
If you can help, call the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division at (478) 542-2080.
