Hawkinsville man arrested after late-night chase in Houston County
Deputies say the chase began during a traffic stop and ended after a PIT maneuver late Monday night.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Hawkinsville man is facing multiple charges after a vehicle pursuit late Monday night in Houston County, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a news release, a deputy conducted a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. on a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by Rydder Seltzer after noticing taillights that didn’t work. During the stop, the deputy reported detecting the odor of marijuana and requested backup.
According to the sheriff’s office, Seltzer fled the scene once additional deputies arrived, which led to a chase. Deputies attempted to deploy stop sticks and a rolling roadblock, but those efforts were unsuccessful. They say Seltzer swerved to avoid patrol vehicles, nearly striking marked units.
The sheriff’s office says deputies later performed a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and come to rest in a wooded area. Seltzer was taken into custody and taken to the Houston County Detention Center.
Seltzer, who jail records show is 20 years old, has been charged with multiple traffic violations, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of crack cocaine.
