Houston County Bears look to continue to improve after reaching 2013 playoffs
Last year was a feeling out process for Lassiter and his squad, but he says this year, with everyone comfortable with one another, it’s time for his team to get to work. They hope to continue their momentum gained from four straight victories at the tail-end of last season.
The Bears were able to knock-out 7 wins thanks to scoring almost 30 points per game, but may be tested in the new year due to some roster turnover on the offensive side of the ball. Coach Lassiter will be looking to fill some of those gaps with fresh talent.
Defensively, eight starters will be returning to the Bears, but Lassiter says the defense overall is still very young, and he and his staff will still be looking to see what they can do on the field for the upcoming season.
Houston County’s first game will be on August 28th, against Veterans at McConnell-Talbert Stadium.
