Hot & Humid

MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Good morning, middle Georgia! Temperatures have been trending well above normal lately. The heat continues as we end out the work week. Today, however, we will get a little break from the 90’s. Due to increasing cloud cover throughout the day and a better chance for storms today, temperatures (for the most part) will stay in the upper 80’s. A few locations to our southeast may see highs in the low 90’s though.

Similar to yesterday, showers and thunderstorms will start to fire up in the afternoon hours. A couple storms may be strong to severe – with threats of 40-60 mph winds and hail up to a quarter of an inch. We’ll keep an eye out for any severe storms and give you the latest updates on-air, online or on our 41 First Alert Storm Team app. Storms should clear out by midnight tonight, though with moisture in the region, a few lingering showers in the morning are possible.

Tomorrow, temperatures will rebound back into the 90’s as the chance for storms lowers.

Friday, a cold front will be approaching Georgia. It will help to drive out moisture and cool our temperatures into the middle 80’s. Before we can enjoy the cooler, drier weather, we just have to deal with some rain and more heat as the work week comes to a close.
