Hollywood Minute: Eddie Murphy documentary and Kathryn Bigelow’s new thriller headline Netflix’s fall lineup
Two major releases are lighting up Netflix this fall.

(CNN)- Two major releases are lighting up Netflix this fall — a long-awaited Eddie Murphy documentary and the return of an Oscar-winning filmmaker.
“Being Eddie” gives viewers a rare, intimate look at Eddie Murphy’s barrier-breaking career, featuring conversations with fellow Hollywood icons and new reflections from Murphy himself.
“I wanna show them that I’m not like anybody in this town. I’m everybody in this scene, and everything in between,” Murphy says in the trailer.
The film explores how Murphy amplified Black talent and reshaped global comedy and culture, cementing his legacy as one of entertainment’s most influential figures.
“Being Eddie” premieres November 12th on Netflix.
Also making its debut this week — Kathryn Bigelow’s first feature in eight years, “A House of Dynamite.”
The nuclear thriller follows a high-stakes mission to prevent catastrophe. “If we get this wrong, none of us are gonna be alive tomorrow,” one character warns.
Film critics and peers are calling Bigelow’s return “special” and deeply personal. “There’s a connection to whatever it is she’s asking of the audience,” said one admirer, comparing her storytelling to directors like Christopher Nolan and Peter Weir.
“A House of Dynamite” is now playing in limited theatrical release and will debut on Netflix this Friday, October 24th.
