HoCo, Veterans advance to baseball Final Four; HoCo to play in soccer title game

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A pair of high school baseball teams will represent Houston County in the GHSA Final Four.

Houston County moves on to the Class 5A Final Four after beating North Paulding 6-1 and 12-5.  The Bears will travel to Gainesville next week.

Veterans will play in the Class 4A Final Four.  The Warhawks needed 12 innings to beat Lanier in Game 1 Tuesday, 3-2, but won easily in Game 2, 5-0.  Next up for Veterans is a home series with Carrollton next week.

Houston County soccer gets rematch in title game

The Houston County boys soccer team knocked off Clarke-Central Tuesday, 2-1, in the Class 5A Final Four.  The Bears advance to the state title game Friday at 7:30 at Kennesaw State.  It’s a rematch from last year’s championship game, when HoCo fell to Mcintosh, 2-0.
