Highs are set to drop significantly this week due to wedge
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia gets cloudier and cooler starting today. The highs won’t be that chilly today (tomorrow’s a different story), but it’ll be about six degrees cooler (around 70 today compared to 76 yesterday). A low pressure system will bring a lot of clouds this afternoon, followed by showers. Western counties may see showers as early as late afternoon. If not, showers will enter most of the area this evening.
A wedge forms Thursday and Friday as cold air becomes trapped south of the Appalachian mountains. That means skies will be overcast, shower chances will be high, and most noticeably, afternoon temperatures are forecasted to be chilly. I have upper 50s and low 60s for highs Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Sunshine returns Sunday.
