The Baldwin High School girls basketball team is celebrating a state championship!

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Baldwin High School girls basketball team captured the GHSA Class 4A championship Wednesday night, beating Hardaway 47-39 at the Macon Coliseum for their first state title in 36 years.
It was the Bravettes’ 25th straight win, but it didn’t come easy.
Trailing 15-9 at halftime and 29-25 after three quarters, Baldwin took the lead with 1:14 remaining in the fourth—its first lead since jumping to a 2-0 start.
After the game, Coach Kizzi Walker spoke about not giving up despite being down heading into the second half.
“I gave them that speech of, ‘What you gonna do? You came this far again and you’re just going to give it away?'” Walker said. “So no, you got to think about everything we went through. This is just a testament to their hard work and their dedication, their drive to want to win, so I got to give it up to the girls. They were determined they were going to be state champions this year.”
The Bravettes finish the season 29-2.
