Hawkinsville announces schedule and road closures for 2025 Christmas parade

The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes several temporary road closures downtown.

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Hawkinsville is gearing up for its annual Christmas parade this Saturday, November 29.

According to the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, the evening begins with a community Christmas tree lighting at 5 p.m. on the Pulaski County Courthouse lawn. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Commerce Street and Dooley Street.

The parade will move down Commerce Street toward Houston Street, turn right onto Houston Street, then turn right onto Broad Street before ending at the First Baptist Church parking lot.

To keep pedestrians and drivers safe, several roads will be closed during the event:

Road closures include:

  • Commerce Street from 5:30 p.m. until the full parade turns onto Houston Street
  • Houston Street during the parade’s progression
  • Broad Street until the end of the parade reaches the First Baptist Church lot

Deputies will help direct traffic throughout the evening. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and expect delays.

The Chamber’s schedule also includes a holiday open house from 1 to 5 p.m. and children’s activities and photos with Santa at the Opera House beginning at 2:30 p.m.
