UPDATE: The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office says Willie James Thomas has been found and is safe.

SPARTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who went missing Monday afternoon.

According to a sheriff’s office Facebook post, Willie James Thomas, also known as Pete Thomas, left his home around 1:30 p.m. and has not been seen by his family since.

Deputies say Thomas is  5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

He was driving a white 2001 Ford Ranger 4×4 with Georgia tag RBQ4050. The vehicle was last seen on a Flock camera at 3:19 p.m. Monday traveling on Georgia Highway 16 toward McDuffie County.
