Hail, tornadoes and flooding hit central U.S., causing damage and evacuations
Severe weather is slamming parts of the central United States, bringing destructive hail, tornadoes and widespread flooding to multiple states.

(CNN)- In Ohio, residents captured dramatic video of golf-ball-sized hail pounding the ground as powerful storms moved through the region Wednesday. The storms are part of a larger system that has produced more than two dozen reported tornadoes across the U.S. heartland since Monday night. One tornado struck Clinton Wednesday evening, causing significant damage. Despite no reported injuries, officials say roughly 2,000 residents were left without power. Flooding is also becoming a major concern across the region.
In Wisconsin, rising waters forced evacuations in the village of Shiocton, west of Green Bay. In a rare and striking scene, sturgeon were seen swimming through flooded areas as water levels surged.
“I’ve never seen it like that,” said resident Sharon Stilp. “I’ve seen a flood, but nothing like this.”
Meanwhile, parts of Michigan are under flood and flash flood watches as officials monitor a potentially dangerous situation along the White River. Authorities warn the river is rising rapidly and could overtop a nearby dam, raising concerns about further flooding in west-central Michigan.
The National Weather Service says the severe weather threat remains ongoing, with conditions expected to stay volatile as the system continues moving across the region.
