Storms will move through Middle Georgia during the suppertime and late evening hours as a cold front passes through the region. Thunder and lightning are fair game as well as a few strong wind gusts, however severe weather is not expected. Rain should clear the region by around midnight tonight. Expect conditions to remain gusty on the back side of the front as the wind becomes more westerly. Sustained speeds will range from 5-15 mph with gusts ranging 20-30 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 40s across Middle Georgia as clouds clear ahead of Saturday morning.

There will be plenty of sunshine Saturday with just a few high clouds expected in the afternoon and evening. Those will largely be over the southern third of the region. Highs will mainly reach the upper 60s however the warmest spots may still hit 70 degrees. Wind will be light and variable as high pressure moves in behind Friday’s cold front.

Expect a cooler night with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s and lower 40s ahead of Sunday morning. Anyone planning to see General Beauregard Lee at Dauset Trails Sunday morning may want to bring a jacket! Overnight wind will remain light and variable.

Sunday will be sunny for much of Middle Georgia as well, however some mid-level clouds are expected to push into the eastern counties of the region during the afternoon. Temperatures will peak in the lower 70s before they dip into the lower 40s ahead of Monday. Skies Sunday night should be clear with gentle wind.
