Governor suspends Crawford County coroner from job

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Crawford County coroner is suspended from his job.

Governor Nathan Deal released an executive order on Wednesday that removes Allen O’Neal from his position until his trial is over or until his term as coroner expires.

The order says a review commission unanimously recommended that O’Neal be suspended.

O’Neal’s trial is expected to start on December 7. He’s charged with violating his oath of office after he refused to answer a coroner call in May.
