Gordon Mayor accused of terroristic threats

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tensions were high in the courtroom as Kelly Robinson told the judge Gordon Mayor Mary Anne Whipple-Lue made a threatening comment to her on September 15th.

Robinson was seeking an arrest warrant for the mayor for terroristic threats.

Mayor Whipple-Lue’s attorney, Wayne Kendall, argued Robinson fabricated the story.

Judge David Brown ruled Robinson’s claim did not have probable cause.

Kendall believes this was another attempt to get the mayor removed from office.

“They are resorting now to all of these other histonics that we see played out here today,” said Kendall.

Robinson said that’s not the case.

“My purpose for this hearing is accountability. Any mayor of any city should be held to the same standard, if not, a higher standard, than their constituents,” explained Robinson.
