Gordon celebrates Christmas with parade

GORDON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The city of Gordon held their annual Christmas parade Sunday afternoon.

“This is our annual Christmas parade and we are so excited to spread the Christmas spirit,’ Gordon Mayor Whipple-Lue. “Each year gets better and better.”

Christmas floats, special guests and local sports teams waved to the crowd of spectators.

“This is my first time being in the parade, and it’s so fun,” seven-year-old Mason Crosby said.

The parade route went through the heart of the city and special Christmas lights guided the way.

The Shriners Hospital for Children led the parade, as members adorned the red Shriners hats and drove miniature cars.

Santa Claus ended the parade on his sled.

“I’m almost ready for Christmas,” Santa said. “I have a few more kids to check off on my list.”
