GMC Bulldogs hoping to reach playoffs in 2014
On the offense, the Bulldogs will have seven starters returning for a unit that only managed just over 16 points per game. This season, Coach Simpson will have a new quarterback in Tyler MacCartee lining up behind the center, “He’s going to do well, he brings a little different dynamic to what we had last year.”
Other offensive players returning will be OL Parker Williams and RB T.J. Lowe.
On the defensive side, the squad will have six starters coming back. Last year in 2013, the defense surrendered 20.2 points a game to their opponents.
The schedule for GMC will include all four Macon private schools – Tattnall, Stratford, FPD, Mount de Sales – and Coach Simpson knows those games will be competitive from start to finish, “We wanted to play everybody and see where we stood and get an honest look at it. They should be great atmospheres with a lot of fans on both sides.”
GMC’s first game will be against Tattnall next Friday. The first home game will be versus Glascock County on September 5th.
