Give Like Dolly Day supports free books for children in Middle Georgia
The September 25 campaign supports Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides children with a free book each month from birth to age 5.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A campaign inspired by Dolly Parton’s commitment to helping children is encouraging people across Middle Georgia to give back Friday.
September 25 is Give Like Dolly Day, an effort supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and its work to put books into the hands of young children.
Through the program, children can receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth until age 5.
Supporters of Give Like Dolly Day are being asked to help make those monthly books possible for children in Middle Georgia, with donations helping continue the program in the community. You can make a donation through this link.
Parton often referred to the local Imagination Library partners who help operate the program as its “true heroes.”
Organizers with the United Way of Central Georgia say Give Like Dolly Day is a way for the community to continue that spirit of giving while helping children grow up surrounded by books and reading.
