Georgia State Patrol cracks down on drunk driving
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – New Year’s Eve can be a lot fun, but when you have too much fun,
Georgia State Patrol may have to step in.
The troopers are cracking down on drunk driving– especially on New Year’s Eve.
It can be anything from a tail light out to a hit and run.
People will be out and about at bars and private parties.
Wherever they may be, Sargent David Holland with GSP expects this New Year to be as busy as any other.
“We have more troopers on the road,” said Holland. “Holiday patrols are always–more manpower is put forth. We’ll do road checks tonight we’ll roam probably, I’m not gonna say in packs, but we’ll work in a close-knit area together. We’ll hit one area if it’s unproductive, we’ll hit another area, if it’s unproductive–we’ll move around.”
Sargent Holland advised using a designated driver to get home.
Also, he wanted to remind everyone that AAA provides a service called Tow-To-Go that takes you and your car home if you can’t drive.
For more information on Tow-To-Go, check out the AAA Tow-To-Go Website.
