North Carolina man arrested in Georgia after high-speed chase ends with crash, drug charges
Deputies say they apprehended the suspect in Dooly County following a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle that led to the recovery of drugs and fraudulent items.

CORDELE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A high-speed chase started by Crisp County deputies ended in Dooly County with the arrest of a North Carolina man, following the recovery of stolen property and drugs from the vehicle.
Deputies say it happened around noon on Saturday when deputies attempted to stop a grey Toyota Rav4 at the intersection of GA 30 W and Old Albany Road.
According to deputies, the driver, identified as 22-year-old Ronavon Kelley of Charlotte, North Carolina, failed to comply, which started a pursuit that stretched into neighboring Dooly County. The chase ended when Kelley lost control and crashed near the 108-mile marker of I-75.
A search after the crash revealed a bag of suspected marijuana, a bag and bar of suspected psilocybin, a checkbook and a P-EBT Card in the stolen vehicle, according to deputies.
Kelley now faces multiple charges, including theft by bringing stolen property into the state, felony fleeing and attempt to elude, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of psilocybin with the intent to distribute, simple possession of psilocybin and two counts of fraud related to financial identity.
Kelley was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center.
