GDOT to Build New Railroad Bridge in Macon County
IDEAL, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Department of Transportation is spending millions of dollars to build a new railroad bridge in Macon County.
According to a news release from GDOT, the $6.1 million project is part of GDOT’s RoadWorks 2013 construction program. The state is building the new bridge above CSX Railroad tracks on a re-aligned portion of State Route 90 south of Ideal in western Macon County.
Drivers can still use the current bridge until the new one opens in may 2015.
