GDOT announces plans for dog bone-shaped roundabout in Monroe County

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Georgia Department of Transportation announced plans this week for a dog bone-shaped roundabout in Monroe County.

The new roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Highways 74 and 42.

GDOT says 31 crashes were reported at the intersection between 2013 and 2019.

The contract for the roundabout will be released for bid in January of 2023.
