GC’s Keys named Honorable Mention All-American
The WBCA put 10 members on the All-America Team, with 29 players in all of NCAA Division II added in as Honorable Mentions.
Keys wrapped up a monster career this season as the school’s all-time leading scorer at 1,822 points, a number also putting her sixth in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) history. She was the first four-time All-PBC recipient in school history, earning PBC Freshman of the Year as well.
The two-time Academic All-American added a spot on the Allstate Good Works Team this year, one of just two student-athletes from Division II to pick up that honor.
Keys led the Bobcats in scoring and finished fifth in the PBC this season at 17.4 points per game. Her three-point shooting of 43.8 percent also ranked first in the league.
The senior guard joins Georgia College greats Marquita Driskell and Chimere Jordan as the third All-American in school history.
The Bobcat women’s basketball season has come to a close, a year in which they finished 16-13, taking runner up honors at the PBC Tournament for the second-straight season. Keys and Enisha Donley (Loganville) earned All-PBC honors this season, with Keys adding the Elite 15 academic honor from the PBC as well.
