GC baseball blanks Emmanuel, 8-0

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. (GC ATHLETICS) – The Georgia College baseball team (10-12) extended its win streak to three with an 8-0 shutout of Emmanuel College Tuesday.

Junior Tanner Giesel (Naperville, Illinois) swatted a solo home run, his second round-tripper this season, in the third inning to get the run started for the Bobcats.

Classmate Dylan Cook (Portola Valley, California) added a two-run shot in the fifth, and Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Freshman of the Week Brandon Purcell (Glennville) added a two-run double.

Junior starter Conner Alford (Macon) tossed five scoreless innings for the second win of his Bobcat career. Four relievers broke up the rest of the contest to complete the shutout, the first for the Bobcat pitching staff this season.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, March 18 at 4 p.m., hosting Albany State University at John Kurtz Field.
