Fugitives Caught in Washington County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two fugitives on the run from North Carolina authorities are behind bars.

Joel Whitaker, 25, and Jessica Lynne Hinesley, 19, are in the Washington County Jail without bond. Both are from North Carolina.

Whitaker is wanted for 16 felony warrants, including breaking and entering, obstruction of justice, theft by taking, and probation violation.

Hinesley is wanted for felony probation violation.

They were hiding out in a mobile home Thursday, on H.J. Lane Road in Harrison. Sheriff Thomas Smith said he and deputies broke the door down to get to the fugitives.

Once inside, deputies had to restrain Whitaker in order to get him into handcuffs.

Hinesley was found hiding in a bedroom inside the mobile home.

Sheriff Thomas Smith said they had to be careful making the arrest because there were a couple of children inside.

Whitaker and Hinesley are scheduled to be extradited to Moore County in North Carolina.
