Free defensive driving class offered to teen drivers in Macon on July 26
Teen drivers in Macon can sign up now for a free defensive driving class hosted by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Section on July 26.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Section is offering a free defensive driving class for teen drivers on Friday, July 26, at 774 Hazel Street in Macon.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, the class runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes hands-on training with driving simulators. It’s open to teenagers between the ages of 15 and 20 who hold either a valid driver’s license or learner’s license.
The course aims to help young drivers “make good, sound decisions on what to do while driving, how to avoid distractions, and how to reduce the number of injuries and crashes that are associated with teen drivers,” the news release says.
The class is free, and lunch will be provided at no cost to students. While it does not count toward Joshua’s Law requirements, the sheriff’s office says “most insurance companies do offer a discount for taking the course.”
To register or get more information, contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Section at (478) 803-2710. Registration is open until the class is full.
