FPD Vikings focused on Week One

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Friday can’t come soon enough for the FPD football team as the Vikings are gearing up for their opening-night matchup against St. Anne Pacelli. The squad has spent a majority of training camp hitting each other, but on Friday night, they’ll finally get a chance to hit someone else.

“I think the players are a little more focused because there’s something at hand that’s pretty urgent,” Head Coach Brett Collier said. “Practice can get mundane, but now there’s someone to prep for, and get ready for, and that adds a different element to it.”

“This whole Summer has been the hardest Summer we’ve worked, for sure,” Senior linebacker Graham Moore added. “We’ve all been working for this moment all Summer, and just all the early mornings, and everything, it’s all coming together now.”

The Vikings will hit their home field Friday night as they kick off the 2026 season on Aug. 14.
