FPD, Stratford to compete for state title on soccer pitch

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon rivals will square off on the pitch Tuesday night as Stratford and FPD are set to do battle for the GIAA Class AAAA State Championship.

The Eagles faced their toughest test to date last week in the semifinals, as their perfect season was in jeopardy of being spoiled by Pacelli, but Stratford rallied in the second half. The Eagles erased a two-goal deficit by finding the twine three times after the break. Stratford will be looking for its first state title since 2013.

The Vikings are in search of their first state championship since 2023, when they defeated the Eagles, 4-0, in the state final.
