Macon Water Authority issued the boil water advisory on Sunday after a large main break near the intersection of Zebulon and Bass Roads.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – First Presbyterian Day School will be closed on Tuesday, September 3 due to an ongoing boil water advisory.

“All scheduled home athletic games are also canceled for Tuesday,” Head of School Dr. John Patterson wrote in a message on the school’s Facebook page Monday night. “We will communicate with you tomorrow once we have an update on the situation. Join me in praying that the issue is resolved quickly.”

Macon Water Authority (MWA) issued a boil water advisory Sunday after a large water main break near the intersection of Zebulon and Bass Roads. The repair has been completed, according to an update from MWA on Monday, but crews are still working.

“Our crews are now in the process of flushing hydrants to ensure the system is fully operational and safe,” an MWA Facebook post read. “Please note that the Boil Water Advisory is still in effect until further notice. Continue to boil your water before use until we confirm that the water is safe. You may notice some water discoloration during this process—this is normal and temporary. If you experience any issues, please let us know.”
