GBI investigating shooting at Fort Valley apartment complex

Fort Valley's police chief says the victim was hospitalized and in surgery Thursday night following the shooting at Westside Villas.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting Thursday afternoon at a Fort Valley apartment complex.

Fort Valley Police Chief David Wilson tells 41NBC the shooting happened around 1:40 p.m. at Westside Villas. That’s located on Brooks Blvd.

According to Wilson, the victim was taken to a local hospital and was in surgery and listed in critical condition as of the latest update Thursday night.

Additional details about the victim and what led to the shooting have not been released.
