UPDATE: Fort Valley man charged with murder in 2025 shooting death
The GBI says Justin Jaleel Clark faces four charges in the shooting death of Devonte Denzell McMillian.

UPDATE (8/18/26): The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Fort Valley man in connection with the 2025 shooting death of 30-year-old Devonte Denzell McMillian.
The GBI says 25-year-old Justin Jaleel Clark is charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Clark was arrested Friday and booked into the Peach County Jail.
According to the GBI, Fort Valley police found McMillian with apparent gunshot wounds at a home in the 500 block of Hinton Street on August 30, 2025. Officers began life-saving measures before McMillian was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

ORIGINAL STORY (8/31/25):
FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One person is in the hospital after being shot Saturday night in Fort Valley.
According to a Fort Valley Police Department news release, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Hinton Street just before 8 p.m. When they arrived, they found a “male victim” lying on the ground bleeding. Police say officers performed CPR until EMS arrived. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a Macon hospital for treatment.
FVPD and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are working the case.
According to Chief DJ Flores, a person of interest has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
